Colin Farrell talks about his 'romantic relationship' with Elizabeth Taylor.

The actor opened up to Ellen DeGeneres on her show Monday about his "romantic relationship" with none other than Elizabeth Taylor.

He ordered flowers; she sent orchids. She’d had seven husbands — one of them twice; he was known for dating some of Hollywood’s most famous women. Both had been feted as among the most beautiful film stars of their generation. Neither of them could sleep at night.
The two-year relationship between Elizabeth Taylor — twice married to the hellraiser’s hellraiser, Richard Burton and the Irish actor Colin Farrell, who for many years did his very best to follow Burton’s example, was never consummated, but there was more to it than a society party friendship for the paparazzi.
“I wanted to be number eight, but we ran out of road,” Farrell said, in an interview with the US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres, in which he spoke of the relationship for the first time.
The actors were 75 and 34 when they met, but that would not necessarily have stopped either of them. Farrell was 28 and the magnificent Eileen Atkins was 69 when he spent an hour in a hotel room trying to talk her into bed, after they met on a film set.
Farrell met the legendary actress at Cedars Sinai Hospital in 2009, when he was there for the birth of his son Henry and she for getting a stent put in her heart.
"I said, 'Will you tell her I said hello? She probably won't know who I am,'" he said of running into her manager Tim Mendelsohn. "And they go, 'No, she knows who you are.' And I went, 'Wow, cool. Well, tell her I said hello and I wish her the best,' and they said, 'Will do.'"
Unable to shake Taylor from his mind, Farrell had his publicist send her flowers only to find out that Taylor shared a similar idea and sent him an orchid with a handwritten note.
A week letter, Farrell, 37, arranged to visit Taylor. "And that was the beginning of a year and a half or two years of what was a really cool [relationship]. It was kind of like the last — it feels like in my head, not hers, I'm projecting — but the last kind of romantic relationship I had.
But before you go dipping your brain in bleach to wipe the mental image of Farrell and Taylor in bed wearing nothing but diamonds, Farrell said the relationship "was never consummated."
Instead, the pair enjoyed late-night phone calls. "It was really cool, and she wasn't much of a sleeper at night, like I'm not, so at two o'clock in the morning, I'd call her," he said. "I'd call her at two in the morning, and the nurse would answer the phone, and I'd say, 'Is she awake?'... And then I'd be on the phone and I'd hear, 'Hello?' And I'd go, 'How's it going?' And we'd talk for a half an hour, an hour, into the wee hours.
"I just adored her," the Irish actor gushed of Taylor, who died in 2011 at 79. "She was a spectacular, spectacular woman. I wanted to be [husband] number eight, but we ran out of road."

The Voice' Season 5 Winner is Tessanne Chin

Did your favorite singer end up winning ‘The Voice’? Weigh in with your thoughts on the newly-crowned season five champion!

After three months of blood, sweat and trebles, the final contestants of The Voice‘s fifth season — Tessanne Chin, Jacquie Lee and Will Champlin – came together Dec. 17 for one last meeting of the melodies. Unfortunately, only one would emerge victorious at the end of the two-hour event.
The Voice closed out its fifth season in star-studded fashion Tuesday, but even performances from the likes of Céline Dionand Lady Gaga – who dueted with coachChristina Aguilera for the first time – could not outshine the real star of the night: winner Tessanne Chin.

Tessanne Chin and Will Champlin of TeamAdam Levine and Jacquie Lee of Team Christina made the coaches' chairs swivel during their blind auditions, then never failed to out-belt their competitors to win the hearts of their coaches, and the votes of America to earn a spot in the finals.

But only one could walk away with The Voicetitle.
Chin, the 28-year-old backup singer from Jamaica, proved throughout the season she had the talent to be front and center, culminating the previous night when her nuanced rendition of Whitney Houston's hit "I Have Nothing" rendered her coach nearly speechless.

Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga Perform on The Voice Finale!

Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera went head-to-head as they fought for the title of ‘biggest voice’ when they shared the stage on The Voice US.Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga Perform on The Voice, Effectively Putting Feud Rumors to Rest.
The two vocal powerhouses battled it out to sing Gaga’s track Do What U Want during the final of the singing competition on Tuesday.

Both Gaga, 27, and The Voice coach took turns belting out the notes as they held hands and smiled at each other during the performance.
At one point the Applause singer rested her head on Xtina’s chest while she stroked her head before a waiter served them champagne. What a way to end the year!
Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga
To celebrate the season finale of The Voice, Christina Aguilera and Lady Gagaperformed together for the very first time on Tuesday, Dec. 17, in Universal City, Calif. The long-rumored rivals showed no signs of animosity as they belted out the latter's hit, "Do What U Want," in matching lamé outfits.
The platinum-haired pop stars even swigged champagne during the number, no doubt toasting their newly formed friendship. "I was really excited because The Voice called and wanted me to perform on the finale and I obviously can't refuse," said Gaga, 27. "It's such an amazing show and I said, 'I'll do it, but I want to know if Christina will do it with me."

Aguilera, 33, was flattered by the suggestion. "This is the first time we've ever met and I have to say, when I heard she wanted to collaborate I said, 'Of course! Lady Gaga!' I've been waiting to meet her. She's such an innovative artist and a risk taker and as a fellow female, I have so much respect for that."
"She's the most down to earth real person that I've ever met in this business. Female to female in this industry, it's really hard to find that kind of a person," Aguilera added. "I love you girl, and you deserve everything that you've earned."
After the show aired, Aguilera tweeted about her duet partner. "She is such a powerhouse vocalist and I was honored to join the stage with @ladygaga tonight on #TheVoice!"
The day prior, Gaga spent some time "catching up" on the talent competition and voiced her support for Aguilera's contestant, Jacquie Lee. "Beautiful girl with a beautiful voice!" she tweeted.
Aguilera in turn replied, "Wow!! Thank you for the incredible support for @jacquieleemusic." (Lee, of course, lost to Adam Levine's mentee, reggae/soul artist Tessanne Chin.)
The divas' duel began in 2008, when Aguilera made a series of seemingly sly digs at a then up-and-coming Gaga. Though fans stirred the pot via social media, the singers made nice earlier this year.I'm a very big fan of Christina Aguilera," Gaga said on the Sept. 11 episode of Bravo's Watch What Happens Live. "From the very beginning of when my career started, there was all this controversy about the two of us. I always felt that it was very unfair."

Did Obama flirt with 'Danish PM?

It's a selfie that shook the world — mostly the tabloid and online world. An animated self-portrait ("selfie" in Internet argot) of US President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron taken by Denmark's blonde leaderHelle Thorning-Schmidt at Nelson Mandela's memorial service on Tuesday titillated the prissy and the prurient across the world, before the photographer who captured the moment said it was no big deal and trashed modern-day obsession with trivialities.

Hands off my man! Michelle Obama shoots daggers at pretty Danish PM.

WHEN your husband is the most powerful man in the world, you can probably expect him to get a fair amount of female attention. But Michelle Obama is clearly not happy about it - and shows a face of thunder as she watched hubby Barack Obama flirting up a storm with pretty Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt.
These hilarious pictures - captured at the Nelson Mandela memorial service in South Africa - show the US President smiling and joking with the blonde, blissfully unaware that Michelle is shooting daggers at the pair of them.
The flirting continued in a political threesome as David Cameron got involved in a selfie with the two world leaders. However, it looks like the First Lady didn't keep her bitterness a secret as a short while later she traded seats with her hubby, who was pictured looking stone-faced while his flirting partner was separated from him.
Sitting firmly between the pair, Michelle made sure everyone knew who was boss - and it's not her husband!
We would love to hear the tongue-lashing he was given on their way back to America...

Nelson Mandela Dead -Former South African President Dies At 95!

Johannesburg, South Africa.
So sad. The former South African president died on Dec. 5 at the age of 95. He will be greatly missed. The current president Jacob Zuma announced the passing at 8:50pm local time in South Africa.

Nelson Mandela sadly passed away on Dec.5, 2013 at home in Houghton, South Africa. He had been suffering from a recurring lung infection and was frequently in the hospital over the last year. The revolutionary leader fought passionately against the injustice of apartheid and later dedicated himself to bringing the South African nation together peacefully after apartheid was abolished. He leaves behind an incredible legacy and will not be forgotten.
Nelson Mandela Dead — ‘Will Sleep for Eternity’

In an interview for the documentary, Mandela (1996), Nelson said, “Death is something inevitable. When a man has done what he considers to be his duty to his people and his country, he can rest in peace. I believe I have made that effort and that is, therefore, why I will sleep for the eternity.” Nelson truly committed himself to making the world a better place, and he succeeded.
Nelson was survived by his third wife, Graça Machel, three children, 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Nelson Mandela’s Accomplishments
Nelson is credited for establishing South Africa’s democracy. After serving 27 years in prison for fighting apartheid, he became a major international figure. Along with the F.W. de Klerk, the South African President in 1993, Nelson won the Nobel Peace Prize.
In 1994, Nelson was elected as the president of South Africa, and served one term, through 1999. He became an icon and a greatly admired leader. In 2012, South Africa printed a new set of banknotes, featuring Nelson smiling on the front of them as a tribute to him.
“A good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination,” Nelson once said, which means that he was one of the best combinations.
Even after Nelson’s presidency was over, he remained active in mediating conflicts from Africa to the Middle East.
President Barack Obama, Muhammad Ali & Other Celebrities Remember Mandela.

“We’ve lost one of the most influential courageous and profoundly good human beings that any of us will share time with on this Earth. He no longer belongs to us, he belongs to the ages,” President Barack Obama said in a press conference. “Today, he has gone home.”
“So long as I live, I will do what I can to learn from him,” the president continued before extending his sympathy to his loved ones. “I only hope that the time spent with him these last few weeks have brought them peace and comfort.”
“Let us pause and give thanks that Nelson Mandela lived.” South Africans mourned Friday the death of the man who led the fight to end the system of apartheid here and then went on to lead the country itself.
"We will always love Madiba for teaching us that it is possible to overcome hatred and anger in order to build a new nation and a new society," President Jacob Zuma told reporters Friday, using the affectionate clan name shared by his countrymen for Nelson Mandela, who died Thursday at age 95.
He will be buried in a state funeral on Sunday, December 15, in his ancestral hometown of Qunu in the Eastern Cape province in a state funeral, Zuma said.
Sunday will be a "national day of prayer and reflection," in which people throughout the nation will gather in places of worship to conduct "prayer services and meditation reflecting on the life" of Mandela, Zuma said.
